Dr. Thomas Watson had dedicated his life to finding a cure for cancer. He had been working on the research for years, but every day felt like a new challenge. As he stood in his laboratory, surrounded by beakers, test tubes and equipment, he felt more defeated than ever before.
His assistant John, who had been with him throughout most of the research, walked in and broke his thoughts. "Doctor, we've received some new funding for the research," John said. "It's not much, but it should keep us going for a few more months."
